The Royal Baby Car Sticker Giveaway

There's a royal baby due any moment! Babies are totally our favorite thing around here and we are on pins and needles waiting to find out whether there will be a prince or a princess.

The Fairy Paintbox is celebrating the birth of the royal heir with The Royal Baby Giveaway. When the time comes, we're giving away one of two prizes. If the royal baby is a girl, we're giving away a set of Princess lettering car stickers! If it's a boy, we're giving away a set of monogram car stickers!

Tips for updating a child's bedroom

Time flies when it comes to decorating your child's room. One minute you've got a cute little baby in a crib and the next minute, you've got a grumpy teenager. Well, hopefully it doesn't happen that fast. Along the way, updating your child's room can be a fun and enjoyable experience for both parent and child. Kids spend a lot of time in their rooms, sleeping, relaxing, playing and maybe doing their homework there. It's a very important place for a child and since a child is always changing, the decor should grow and/or change with them over the years. Here are some bedroom update tips from The Fairy Paintbox:

Versatility. Invest in a crib that can transform into a toddler bed, a day bed and eventually a full size bed. This type of crib, referred to as a 4-in-1 crib, can be rebuilt around using the same pieces that make the original crib, to grow with your child.

Color. There is no easier update than a fresh coat of paint in a new color. The entire personality of a room can be changed this way as there are literally limitless colors out there to choose from. A color palette for an eight year old may not appeal so much to a preteen.

Coordinate. When you change the room color, coordinate the decor with the wall color. Perhaps you can reuse decor from the previous room theme and use as an additional color accent. If you bring in other colors, make sure they are consistent throughout the room. Tie in the drapes, the wall decor and the furniture. If the furniture no longer works with the new color scheme and decor, consider repainting the furniture instead of purchasing new ones.

Personality. Consider your child's personality when decorating. You want your child to enjoy their own space. Get his or her input for new wall letters spelling their name on the wall. What best represents your child? Glitter and sparkle? A specific sport? A hobby or interest?
